In 1913, when the Grove Park Inn opened its doors in Asheville, North Carolina — one of the grandest mountain resorts ever built — its sprawling stone verandas were lined with rockers just like this one. Presidents relaxed in them. Writers sought them out. Guests stayed longer than they planned, lulled by the rhythm of the rock and the view of the Blue Ridge.

Over a century later, the Grove Park Rocker is still made the same way — by hand, from hickory sourced from the Tennessee Valley, the same material and the same craft that have defined American rustic furniture for generations. The tall, commanding back rises to 48 inches, creating a silhouette that is at once imposing and deeply inviting.
